What is an Escritoire?

Escritoire (from French): a writing desk, particularly one with compartments that can be hidden by a retractable flap.

I write about dance for a living, but my interests are broader ranging. Escritoire gives those musings a platform, maybe even an audience, in visually appealing little virtual boxes.
